This week there was lots of news (what a time to start a LUKSO newsletter👀). No worries if you missed all the good stuff; we got you 👊. This week we will talk about the following:

Mainnet launches on May 23rd

Wen mainnet? Well, after years of waiting, there is now an answer: May 23rd. Finally, it is happening. 🥳

On Wednesday, May 3rd, the LUKSO team will initiate the smart contract freeze at 2:20 pm UTC. The freeze delay is 46,523 blocks on Ethereum, which will take around one week. This means until then, anyone can still become a Genesis Validator.

Testnet goes live

The L16 testnet has been operational for some time, but a new testnet that mirrors the mainnet setup will replace it. This has been a much-awaited event for developers, who can now sigh with relief as the new testnet is finally live!

Projects using LUKSO can migrate their applications to this new testnet, which serves as a rehearsal for the mainnet release. Keep an eye on the Universal Page discord channel for information about when the testing phase will commence. Participating in this phase could earn you a coveted Genesis NFT. 👀

10K Validators 📈

The Genesis validators have deposited their stake and will start the mainnet. This week it reached over 10K validators! The more validators, the more decentralized and secure the network, which is excellent news. We had to get at least 4096 validators to start the network (Vitalik’s personal safe limit), and we shattered that number!💥 See the current number of validators here.

Fabian Vogelstellar vs Charles Hoskinson

LUKSO VS Cardano

Did Fabian start a new blockchain war? Well, that’s up to you to decide. If you are a LUKSO OG, you know this statement is nothing new. Fabian has talked about the old Ethereum days before, but talking about Charles Hoskinson (founder of Cardano) on Twitter and even tagging him in the post is new.

Did he mean to take shots at Charles and light some fires in the Cardano community? Or is he just being straight and wanting to rectify some things being said about who the true Ethereum founders are?

Either way, the LUKSO community is all about positive vibes and has moved on. Anyone is welcome to chill and pop a few pink pills. Just make sure you bring your Universal Profile. 🆙
